Community Volunteers

These are selected by their own communities and then Hospice provides training in nursing and identification of patients in need of palliative care services.

Community volunteers were initiated because 57% of people never get a chance of being attended to by Health workers. Some of these patients do suffer from cancer or HIV/AIDS and are in severe pain.

The role of community volunteers is to refer them to Hospice. Hospice will then go to their homes and give holistic care in conjunction with palliative care.
